Roads need to be repaired, maintained

Dear Editor,
Please focus on fixing the City of Kingman – infrastructure. Hard decisions have to be made. We need qualified personnel running the City of Kingman. We need personnel who can get things done!
We are putting together a group of key leadership that will help you guys hold city personnel accountable. You all had good intentions going into office, but it’s clear that you’ve either given up or learned how to use your position for personal gain.
– Fix our roads… you need a full time crew to crack sealing roads, fixing potholes and then you need another team chip sealing. As you all know this is the most effective way to maintain the roads and cost effective. It has been reportedly said, that Mr. Foggins has said that if the citizens do not approve the tax (roads) that he is not going to make it a top priority as if the citizens don’t care he doesn’t care… This was said behind closed doors. We need new leadership! This is not right!
– Parks are still in terrible shape! The City Parks Director needs to be replaced!
– And it’s great that you’re investing in downtown but who is going to maintain the investment? The Parks Department? They can’t even keep up with their current obligations. Are you going to use HURF money to maintain downtown long term?
– City of Kingman water pressure? I know of a number of citizens (homeowners and business owners) that have had to call the water department because the water pressure to their homes (over 150 psi) was causing damage and leaking. City employees sent out on water main break calls have said that, on one particular day, they had worked on sixteen (16) separate pipe leaks and breaks. Sixteen in one day! Again, who is running the city?
In short: We have road issues, our parks are a disgrace, terrible golf course, city water issues, street lights not work in neighborhoods, affordable housing, good paying jobs, a sense of community – developers are just building homes not beautifying communities (i.e., clubhouses, parks, pools, bike paths or street marking, tennis courts, basketball courts, etc.). We need leadership, accountability, transparency and action!
You drive around this city just like the rest of us… don’t you- notice these things?
Cassy Premyk
