KINGMAN – The public is invited to the Kingman Mohave Lions Club meeting Thursday October 31, at noon. Guest speaker is Barbara Merritt, RN,  from Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC). For the past four years Merritt has done medical prevention wellness visits for KRMC. Beyond her nursing experience, Merritt also has experience in management and hospice together with health and wellness coaching. Amongst other topics, Barbara Merritt will share how Medicare pays for many preventive services to keep people healthy. Preventive services can find health problems early, when treatment works best, and can keep you from getting certain diseases. Seniors are entitled to a Medicare wellness visit annually, at no charge, to identify these services and to have an active discussion about health, wellness strategies and which screenings would be appropriate. The visits are informal, informative and allow enough time for discussion about health-related concerns. This is a way to get the most out of Medicare benefits.

This meeting is at Calico’s Restaurant, 418 West Beale St. There is no admission charge to attend the meetings and no reservations are needed. Calico’s offers lunch to attendees, the cost of which will vary dependent on what is ordered.
