Colorado City voters pass ballot question to begin holding mayoral elections

COLORADO CITY – Voters have approved a ballot question that will change the way that future Mayors are chosen in the north Mohave County community of Colorado City. The measure passed 196-52 in the election conducted by mail that concluded Tuesday, May 20. “Our council members believe that it is time to implement a change in the current method of selecting our mayor,” Town Clerk Shirley Zitting wrote in a communication last November, requesting Mohave County permission to conduct the special election. Barlow spared from prison sentence

COLORADO CITY – A Colorado City man avoided a two- to five-year prison term during his August 14 sentencing hearing for a sex offense involving a 24-year-old girl. Delbert Barlow, 55, previously pleaded guilty to attempted sexual assault.

Barlow allegedly groped the victim as she slept on the couch at a Colorado City home on South Hammon Street on Dec. 25, 2023.
