Carlotta “Carrie” Thacker Scheffner, 78, joined her parents, Myrle and Frank Angus Thacker; brothers, Frank “Frankie” Angus Jr. and Michael Thacker, in Heaven on November 12, 2021.

Carlotta was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Ray Wanner and her late husband Rob Scheffner.

She is survived by her seven children, Matthew Ray (Joni and Pam) Wanner of Kingman, Arizona; Regan Marie Frost of Fernley, Nevada; Dawn Collette (Dale) Varnson of Brocket, North Dakota; Thursday Dawn Martak of Upland, California; Luke Andrew “Drew” (Kim) Wanner of Lovelock, Nevada; Donald Ray Lamont (LaLena) Wanner Jr., of Lovelock, Nevada; and Ricki Lynn Dante (Tom Cook) of North Dakota, 30 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Carlotta was born on December 2, 1943 in LA County, California. At just 15 years old, she married Donald Wanner and moved to the Fernley and Silver Springs area in Nevada. In her late 30’s, she moved to Ogden, Utah and went back to school to become a nurse. After getting her degree, she worked as an RN for the Nevada Department of Corrections and then for Pershing General Hospital.

Carlotta enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her grandkids play sports, fishing, gardening, and helping others. She also loved being an active member in the LDS church, working on her genealogy, temple work, and was responsible for the weekly church program.

Most importantly, Carlotta had a huge heart with a ton of love to give to everyone around her. She never judged anyone and was always willing to help someone else out if they needed it. She loved her family more than anything and never hesitated to tell her friends stories about each of her children and grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on December 3, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lovelock, Nevada.

Graveside services were held on December 6, 2021 in Ogden, UT.
