Judith A. David fka Judy Kunsman, age 78, went home to be with our Lord on December 30, 2023 at Desert Highlands Care Center in Kingman, Arizona after an extended illness. She was born March 1, 1945, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to parents William and Dorothy (Fox) David. She was baptized at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was confirmed and graduated from elementary school at Zion Lutheran Church. Her high school years were split between Southside High School in Fort Wayne and New Haven High School in New Haven, Indiana where she graduated in 1963.

While raising her four children whom she saw baptized and confirmed, Judy worked for 10 years as an inspector for Central Foundry Division of General Motors in Defiance, Ohio, and for 20 years as an inspector special for Powertrain Division of General Motors in Toledo, Ohio. She was strong in both spirit and body and flipped and inspected hundreds of thousands of 50+ pound blocks, heads, and transmission housings during her years (1972-2002) at General Motors. She retired to Kingman, Arizona where she enjoyed the sunshine and volunteered her time at her church, the Lutheran Woman’s Missionary League, and the local pregnancy center before her health declined.

She is survived by her three children Thomas Kunsman and Kenneth Kunsman of Kingman, Arizona, and Wendy (Kunsman) Hyre of Saint Paul, Minnesota; two grandchildren Broderick Kunsman of Defiance, Ohio and Isaac Hyre of Saint Paul, Minnesota; three siblings Walter (Jerry) David of Freemont, Indiana, Steven David of New Haven, Indiana, and Debra David of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Frederick Kunsman, of Archbold, Ohio, her ex-husband and children’s father, Richard Kunsman, of Edon, Ohio, by two brothers, Larry and Alan David of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and by her parents.

At Judy’s request, a private family memorial vacation to San Diego, California will be taken to honor her final wishes. She played basketball in school, loved watching college ball, and was a big fan of coach Jim Valvano.
