MOHAVE COUNTY – Democratic candidates visited three cities on Saturday, August 10 including Lake Havasu, Bullhead City and Kingman to discuss their platforms, meet voters, and answer questions. On Sunday, August 11, they continued on to Mesquite, Nevada and finished in Colorado City, Arizona.

9th circuit strikes down Arizona’s Proof of Citizenship rule 

Two weeks after its initial ruling allowing Arizona to require proof of citizenship for voter registrations, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a ruling from its motions panel.

That means that state voter registration forms may be accepted without proof of citizenship, as they have been since the League of Latin American (LULAC ) citizens Consent Decree went into effect over eight years ago.

Heat deaths of people without air conditioning, often in mobile homes, underscore energy inequity

PHOENIX (AP) — Mexican farm worker Avelino Vazquez Navarro didn’t have air conditioning in the motor home where he died last month in Washington state as temperatures surged into the triple digits.

For the last dozen years, the 61-year-old spent much of the year working near Pasco, Washington, sending money to his wife and daughters in the Pacific coast state of Nayarit, Mexico, and traveling back every Christmas.

CBP officers in Arizona seize more than half a ton of fentanyl in largest seizure in agency history
