Winter Wonderland

Mark your calendars and brace yourselves for the upcoming Winter Wonderland event taking place Saturday, December 10, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse.   “We’re putting on a winter festival unlike any winter festival we’ve done before,” said Parks and Recreation Superintendent David Heath. “For the first time ever, we’re bringing an ice skating rink to Bullhead City, along with many other unique attractions and amenities. December 10, Bullhead City’s winter wonderland will be the envy of every winter event in the southwest, bringing families from all over to experience this unique event.”  Featuring all the amenities that locals have come to love and expect from Bullhead’s Winter Festival, the 2022 Winter Wonderland will be a fabulous frosty festivity full of fantastic features. Vendors from all over the tri-state will bring their one-of-a-kind handmade wares providing the best experience for families to find unique Christmas gifts. Local talent will perform throughout the day on the city stage for everyone to enjoy, and Santa will once again make an appearance providing a photo opportunity for all the children.  The fun doesn’t stop there. In addition to the familiar amenities, the event’s new attractions will include a 60’x80’synthetic ice-skating rink, the world’s largest snowman and bounce house, the Mt. Everest Climb and Slide inflatable, Minnie’s Plush Snowball fight, 13 bounce houses, a Jack Frost Toddler Zone and Santa’s Workshop.  The City is excited to unveil these new amenities coming to the Winter Wonderland. The synthetic ice-skating rink will accommodate up to 125 skaters per session on a plastic polymer material that provides skaters the smooth familiar feeling of skating on real ice. The synthetic ice rink requires no water and no refrigeration meaning skaters can enjoy the ice at typical room temperatures.   Bouncy, the world’s largest snowman, is a 30-foot-tall inflatable snowman and bounce house large enough to accommodate 30 children at a single time. The Mount Everest Climb and Slide is a 30-foot-tall inflatable slide, that children enthusiastically scale before they slide down. Minnie’s Plush Snowball fight is a special zone for families to test their winter combat skills with soft plush snowballs that can be thrown or launched at other individuals with provided equipment. Santa’s Workshop will provide kids with a single art craft project to complete on site and take home as well as providing space and supplies for endless coloring and writing letters to Santa. The Jack Frost Toddler Zone is a space filled with ball pits and attractions tailored just for small children under the age of 5 to enjoy with their parents.   A $10 wristband will grant the wearer unlimited access to the bounce houses, the plush snowball fight, the inflatable slide, and Santa’s workshop, as well as one 15-minute session on the synthetic ice-skating rink.   “We’re bringing so much value to this event.” said Heath. “We do everything we can to make our events as special and accessible as possible for our community, and we’re proud to be providing so much value for only one $10 wristband. We looked at prices from other skate venues, and equipment rental alone is typically around $10. We’re including the rental in the price of a $10 wristband and giving away free crafts, and unlimited access to the bounce houses on top of it.”   As always, entry into the winter wonderland will be free for everyone! Families will be able to browse vendors’ wares, enjoy the free entertainment provided on the stage, get pictures with Santa, and enjoy the winter spirit free!  The new winter wonderland is literally overflowing with things to do. A large tent in the front parking lot of the Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse will house all the vendors and make room for the additional amenities. The ice-skating rink, Santa’s workshop, bounce houses, slides, stage, and plush snowball fight will all be housed inside the fieldhouse. The city will also be providing a shuttle service to bring people from the Mohave Crossroads Shopping Center to the Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse when parking space runs out.   The Winter Wonderland is made possible by community partners, and generous sponsorships. Bullhead City is honored to announce that Wienerschnitzel, Exceptional Healthcare, and Mohave Electric Cooperative, have all contributed generously to helping make this event possible.   “It’s hard to understate the importance of sponsorships for City events,” said Sponsorship Coordinator Jackie Jensen. “We couldn’t put on these events without them, and they deserve our gratitude.”   The City is still accepting sponsorships for the Winter Wonderland. Sponsorships help improve the quality, quantity, and accessibility of city events and Winter Wonderland sponsors get their names and logos placed on Winter Wonderland promotional materials, which are viewed and heard by thousands of people. Those interested are encouraged to reach out to Jensen at or (928)763-9400 ext. 8246.   “We’re excited to be bringing such a great event to our community,” said Heath. “We look forward to seeing everyone come together to enjoy the winter spirit this December 10.”
