The History of the American Road Trip with Jim Hinckley

KINGMAN – On Saturday, Mar. 5 at 1 p.m., Jim Hinckley will be discussing the history of the American road trip at the Mohave Museum of History and Arts located at 400 W Beale St. From Alexander Winton’s ill-fated attempt to drive across the country in 1901 to Desi and Lucy’s epic odyssey in “The Long, Long Trailer,” the great American road trip is woven into the national tapestry. It continues today with the obsession over Route 66 and author Jim Hinckley will be sharing the fascinating stories behind the nation’s most iconic road trips.
