10 years for child porn charges

BULLHEAD CITY – A 10-year prison sentence stipulated in a plea agreement has been imposed for a Bullhead City man for downloading and possessing child pornography on his cell phone. David Hoyos, 50, was sentenced by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle during a Friday, May 19 hearing.

Hoyos pleaded guilty to two charges reduced to attempted sexual exploitation of a minor. Six counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor were dismissed in the deal.

An investigation arising from a tip provided by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led to the arrest of Hoyos following a search last June of his home at 232 Willowood Lane. Hoyos must comply with sex offender registration protocols while serving lifetime probation following prison.
