Getting started: Interstate 40 Willow Creek Bridge #3 replacement

The Arizona Department of Transportation has started clearing the construction zone in preparation for a bridge replacement project at the Interstate 40 Willow Creek Bridge #3, between the town of Seligman and the city of Kingman in Mohave County.
A new bridge will be constructed south of the existing bridge to carry I-40 eastbound traffic over Willow Creek. This work is taking place off of I-40 through the fall 2023, and will not impact traffic:
- Eastbound I-40 right shoulder will be closed in the work zone.
- The speed is reduced in the work zone.
- ADOT reminds drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
After the new bridge is constructed in 2024, I-40 eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane to construct the realignment of I-40 to the new bridge. Traffic will be shifted to the new alignment, and the new bridge and the existing bridge will then be removed.
This project includes the removal and replacement of the existing eastbound bridge as well as the approach slabs, paving, guardrail and pavement markings.
