Vietnam Veterans Day outdoor cookout slated

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City is proud to honor their Vietnam Veterans with an open invitation to all service members and veterans to a Vietnam Veterans Day Outdoor Cookout Event, held at the Friends of the Fair Rodeo Grounds off Dub Campbell Way at SARA Park on Wednesday, March 29. Gate opens at 10:30 a.m., presentation of “Colors,” from the Lake Havasu Marine Corps League Detachment # 757, kicks off the event at 10:45 a.m., followed by the National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, and a few messages thanking those who serve in the military past and present. Veterans in need of transportation to and from the event should call ahead and reserve a spot through Lake Havasu City Transit Services at 928-453-7600, by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17.  

This is a City event, produced by a committee of various local veteran organizations. The venue is sponsored by Friends of the Fair, hotdogs and the fixings are sponsored and provided by the Elks Lodge #2399, and live music is provided with past donations.
