Go Lake Havasu to honor tourism community
Nominations for awards are being accepted
LAKE HAVASU CITY – Go Lake Havasu tourism bureau will be honoring the individuals, businesses and organizations that contribute to the thriving economic impact of the tourism community in Lake Havasu City.
“We look forward to honoring the outstanding service our hospitality industry provides for the continuous flow of tourists who come to marvel at the London Bridge and to relax in Arizona’s Playground,” said Terence Concannon, President and CEO of Go Lake Havasu tourism bureau. “The businesses, managers and front-line employees are essential to ensuring our visitors to love our destination as much as we do. We look forward to taking the time to recognize the partners who consistently go above and beyond.”
Go Lake Havasu is now accepting nominations for three awards that will be presented at the annual tourism luncheon to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of National Travel and Tourism Week, May 7-13, 2023. Go Lake Havasu will invite tourism partners to the annual luncheon to present the awards on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
Nominations for the three awards include:
Rising Star
This award recognizes extraordinary work-related performance by a person who is new to the travel and tourism industry. Nominees must have worked in the Lake Havasu tourism industry for less than three years. Nominations will be evaluated on leadership, enthusiasm, innovation, successful programs or events and/or job-related accomplishments.
Spirit of Tourism
The individual, business, or organization must be dedicated to enhancing visitors’ experiences in Lake Havasu City and the overall customer service and hospitality for community tourism. The nominee should have personal contact with travelers on a regular basis, consistently provide positive impressions, practices outstanding patience, understanding and communication skills, and diligently works on solutions for identified challenges.
Tourism Professional of the Year:
Recognizes an individual who best exemplifies outstanding leadership in the pursuit of excellence and who has advanced the tourism industry. The recipient will have dedicated many years to tourism and nominations may include contributions over an entire career or for a recent notable accomplishment. Judging will consider accomplishments, innovation, performance, empowerment of others, integrity and respect. The individual exhibits all the qualities of a good leader while directing and motivating his/her staff and ultimately driving tourism and increasing visitation to Lake Havasu.
