Connie Davis 5K Walk & Roll for Cancer upcoming
LAUGHLIN, Nev. – Discount deadline approaching! Get $5 off registration for the Laughlin Chamber’s Connie Davis 5K Walk & Roll for Cancer, held on Sat, Mar 4. Entry is $25 per person until Jan 1, 2023, when it rises to $30 per person. Paid registration includes a t-shirt and swag bag (while supplies last). Full-price registration is open until the day of the race when late registration begins at 8a PT at Pyramid Canyon Day Use Area at Heritage Greenway Park & Trails, the start of the race.
Because the race route is fully paved, wheelchairs, strollers, scooters, children and pets are welcome as runners, walkers and rollers. Along the route will be interactive stops, as well as breath-taking views of the Colorado River. Afterward, the event has a number of events and activities to participate in.
• Rock-painting has become a symbol of healing, including through the cancer journey. Bullhead City Rocks will have a booth.
• To capture the “Celebrating Life” theme, Official Event Photographer, Leslie Chester of Firafly Photography, will be taking photos of participants, onlookers, volunteers using the backdrop of desert scenery.
• Entertainment will be the live music provided by Billy Kay.
Pyramid Canyon has its share of river and desert scenery. Start and end the walk at Davis Dam, voted “the most beautiful” by xx, then enjoy the views of Davis Camp on the east side of the Colorado as you make your way south. An out-and-back route, turn around and make your way back to Pyramid Canyon to a finish line, food and awards.
Create a team from among your friends, neighbors, co-workers and/or organizations. There’s no limit to the team size; in fact, the largest team gets a trophy. Laughlin Chamber member-vendors get free booth space.
Don’t have a team, but want to get involved? A $500 business sponsorship gets your logo on the banner that hangs on the Chamber building for the whole year, on the race route (at the North Reach Day Use Area), on at least 500 event shirts included in the swag bags, countless mentions in media leading up to and after the event and a shout-out at the event. Since 2019, the Connie Davis 5K Walk & Roll for Cancer has generated more than $40,000 for The River Fund Inc.
