DeVries, Reed complete NCA

KINGMAN – Naomi Brown, MSTEPP Chairperson, is proud to announce that MSTEPP Program Director Robert DeVries and Drug Free Communities Program Coordinator Tiffiny Reed have successfully completed the National Coalition Academy. Both will be recognized at the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) National Forum in Washington D.C. on January 31, 2023.
The National Coalition Academy (NCA) is a comprehensive training program developed by CADCA’s Institute that teaches leaders the skills and processes necessary to effectively implement the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMSHA) Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF). The NCA is designed specifically for coalition staff and volunteer leadership. It combines three weeks of classroom training, three on-line sessions and access to a web-based workstation. The Academy’s training curriculum is organized with the SPF. By the end of the year long-training, coalitions will be able to develop five essential products:
1) Community Assessment
2) Logic Model
3) Strategic and Action Plan
4) Evaluation Plan and Evaluation Communication Plan
5) Sustainability Plan
Through this process, MSTEPP is working on developing a youth led coalition and increasing awareness of substance use in the region. Any youth that are interested in working on a peer driven program are encouraged to contact Tiffiny Reed at treed@mstepp.org.
The public is encouraged and welcome to attend the MSTEPP monthly meetings that are held on the third Tuesday of every month at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingman Regional Medical Center Hualapai Mountain Campus. For additional information please contact Robert DeVries at rdevries@mstepp.org.
