KINGMAN – A Mohave County grand jury has charged a Golden Valley man with killing another man who allowed him to stay at his residence. Michael Turner, 31, has been indicted for abandonment of a dead body and first- degree murder in the death of Joshua Blake, 42.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said Blake was killed following a dispute over Turner’s alleged failure to pay rent. The agency said Turner tried to notarize a bill of sale attempting to take possession of Blake’s home.
The MCSO said an alleged serial killer who reportedly took his own life following an October 21 pursuit was involved, along with Turner, in Blake’s shooting death. Hunter McGuire, 26, has also been connected by law enforcement authorities to the murders of a Las Vegas woman, a couple who lived east of Kingman and a Kingman man who was killed in Golden Valley.
Authorities have not yet resolved whether McGuire also killed his girlfriend, whose body was found next to his on October 21, or whether she took her own life before he shot and killed himself.
Sheriff Doug Schuster said personnel in his detective division are working with the Mohave County attorney’s office to determine if McGuire can be connected to other unsolved homicides in the area.
