KINGMAN – A Kingman woman is charged with impaired driving and manslaughter in connection with the death of Leo Becenti, a veteran Department of Public Safety Officer. Elizabeth Tisdale, 54, was indicted July 21 and she entered not guilty pleas during her August 18 arraignment.
Police reports indicate that the 54-year-old Becenti had been drinking and that another party dropped him off at the wrong address on March 9. Becenti reportedly fell into the street when shoved by a man who attempted to prevent him from entering private property in the 1900 block of Dawes Avenue.
Becenti was struck and fatally injured in the street by the Pontiac Grand Am that Tisdale was driving. Police reports indicate lab analysis determined that Tisdale had amphetamine and methamphetamine in her blood stream at the time of the incident.
Tisdale faces a September 8 pretrial conference before Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle.
