BULLHEAD CITY – Monsoon season is upon us, and the eastern service area has been plagued by several outages this week. Equipment likely sustained damage from the previous extreme storms coming through our region. On Wednesday, August 3 at 7:51pm 2,339 members lost power for approximately 10 hours. This particular outage affected members in the Hualapais, Valle Vista, and Pinion Pine area.
Crews again worked throughout the night to replace the equipment. Once the breaker was closed, power was restored to all 2,339 MEC members at 6:25am on Thursday, August 4. Manager of Engineering and Operations Jerry Hardy added, “Our crews will continue to work at all hours of the night to restore power quickly and safely as possible. We understand outages are frustrating, but our team is always on call and MEC members are always at the forefront of our minds.
Additionally, at 7:27am on Thursday, August 4, 55 MEC members in Bullhead City lost power for 46 minutes when lightening blew a fuse. Crews patrolled the line, replaced the fuse, and restored power to all members at 8:14am.
